Amidst a sunlit white tent with smatterings of bright orange polka dots, apricot-coloured dahlias and helium balloons galore featuring avatars of the evening’s two stylish VIPs, guests gathered atop Malaparte’s rooftop terrace to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of CANDICE&ALISON Events Group. With giant luminescent emoji balloons and a gleaming white-and-orange bar fully stocked with Moët Hennessy spirits, it took no time at all for the bumping party vibe to saturate the length of the terrace.
A wall installation inside the tent showcased shelves of sweet and savoury flower pots, flanked by human-sized screens on either end. The one-bite wonders ranged from wasabi tuna poke bowls and “peas peas peas” (a plant-based concoction of chickpeas, sweet peas and pea shoots) to blueberry peach verrine and Black Forest cake. Meanwhile, trays of inventively plated canapés circulated through the crowd. Edible artworks included pink “watermelon” lime wedges sprinkled with black sesame seeds and served on a scooped-out wedge of watermelon rind — a veritable meta melon — as well as citrusy beetroot and radish bites carefully strewn across a bed of sprouts, and morsels of charred octopus with smoked aïoli delicately curled around a sturdy tree branch.
As guests sipped and munched, the two celebrated women of honour unveiled their top-secret project, a showstopping display complete with pyrotechnics and the grand reveal of a stunning white-to-black bottle of brand-new sparkling wine, decked out in cascading ombré ropes swishing gracefully around its neck.
From the bright, lively palette to the crisp specialty cocktails, even the most minute details of this gregarious celebration was thoughtfully planned and executed with the ultimate jubilee in mind.
