Maybe it’s our classic, lovingly restored red barn, or our picture-perfect white farmhouse, complete with porch and rocking chairs. Perhaps it’s the big trees or sweeping lawn. Maybe it’s the smell of bread pudding wafting out of our farmhouse kitchen, or the love and care shown by each member of our team. What matters most is this: you’ll feel right at home here. That’s exactly what Chef Kieron Hales set out to create when he reimagined this historic property as an event venue with an emphasis on food.
At Cornman Farms, we want to be an important part of your story. We want you to come back again and again, for important milestones or just to say hello. Because once you host an event here, you become part of our story too.
That’s why we put so much love and care into making your day perfect. As experts in event planning, we know: life’s biggest moments involve endless little details. But little doesn’t mean insignificant—quite the opposite, in fact. It’s those details that make your day distinctly, undeniably yours. So from the time you reach out to us, through your event and beyond, we take every little thing just as seriously as you do. We know you won’t get many opportunities in life to gather all your most cherished people in one place—so we take care of everything, giving you the chance to relax and be fully present for every magical moment.
We believe nothing brings people together like good food, prepared with love. Our kitchen is the heart and soul of Cornman Farms. Nothing makes us happier than whipping up a batch of pancakes for flower girls, seeing a bride drift into the kitchen the morning of her big day, or having an event culminate with everyone congregating in the kitchen. When our kitchen is somewhere people want to be, we know we’re doing something right.
The maestro of our kitchen is our Founder and Executive Chef, Kieron Hales. Kieron grew up in England and began working in Michelin-star restaurants at the age of 13—but these days there’s nowhere he’d rather cook than here. For him, the cultivation, preparation and enjoyment of food is deeply personal. What he can’t grow in his lovingly tended chef’s garden, he sources from local farmers he trusts—something he believes makes food more meaningful. With every dish, Chef Kieron aims to create flavors that evoke emotion and feelings of home. Bring him your most important family recipes, and he’ll gladly make them part of your celebration. Don’t be surprised if he can make them taste even better than Grandma did—he’s just that good.
We’re experts at planning and hosting events of all kinds—especially if they involve gathering around food. Our team creates custom experiences that are perfectly suited to our farmhouse, our barn or our grounds. We’re just minutes from downtown Ann Arbor, but somehow feel worlds away.
