Taste Catering and Event Planning is a full service luxury catering company.  We are driven by passion to create unique and memorable experiences for our clients with custom-crafted, hands on approach to every detail.  Taste is a leader in the industry, providing restaurant caliber cuisine, innovative design, and top of the line service for weddings, private and corporate events. 

Established in 1978, Taste is a women-owned and operated company. For 40 years, we have catered a range of events such as an elaborate and very private rock-star wedding in Napa, a Fortune 500 company picnic for 4,000 in Silicon Valley, an elegant, high security sit-down dinner for the President of the United States. Taste is guided by seasonality and works closely with local farmers, many of whom grow specialty items specifically for our menus.  Taste is committed to using organic and sustainably produced ingredients and was the first major caterer in the San Francisco Bay Area to be green certified.

In addition to catering events from Carmel to the Napa Valley, we are extremely proud of our exclusive catering partnerships with Filoli Estate, Press Club SF, and the Walt Disney Family Museum.  These exclusive relationships enable us to offer unique venue experiences to our clients and their guests.

Taste produces 600-700 events per year with 75 full time employees, and several hundred on call service and kitchen staff.  We pride ourselves in the full range of event production services we provide.  Our talented beverage manager and close relationships in the California wine industry ensure that we provide the perfect mix of wine and spirits for each event.  We have award winning executive chefs in both the savory and pastry departments.  Our in- house design and floral team is capable of taking each event to the next level with décor, lighting, and floral.  Our collaboration with the best vendors and purveyors throughout the Bay Area has given us the opportunity to work with some of the most inspiring minds in the business.  Our ‘out of the box’ approach, and unparalleled service has been applied to events of all sizes, from two to 8,000 guests.  

Taste is community minded and for decades has supported many philanthropic causes in the San Francisco Bay Area such as Meals on Wheels of San Francisco and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.  We welcome the opportunity to use our expertise, resources, and know-how to give back to the community wherever we can.
