The “ it” caterer of Connecticut for over 38 years, Marcia Selden Catering has been orchestrating premier parties and weddings throughout the tri-state area; cooking for commanding companies, countless celebrities, elite private clients, and political dignitaries including three former US Presidents. They’re highly awarded in their industry and have won the “Oscars” of Catering, the ACE Award for Best Caterer, East Coast. Robin Selden won the CATIE Award for Chef of the Year from the International Caterers Association. They’ve been named Best Caterer of The Gold Coast eight years in a row and were inducted by The Knot into its Hall of Fame. They are also the only caterer to have been inducted into the Connecticut Restaurant Hall of Fame.
Marcia started the now-thriving company in her home kitchen nearly 40 years ago. Famous among her friends and family as a passionate cook and frequent entertainer, a friend asked her if she knew a caterer for her daughter’s wedding, Marcia volunteered and a catering star was born. Since then Marcia has grown the company to the prolific business it is today. Along with her daughter, Robin Selden, Managing Partner, Executive Chef and Creative Director and son, Jeffrey Selden, Managing Partner who runs the Sales & Wedding Division as well as our ‘liquid kitchen’ specializing in wines, spirits and mixology. Both are in leadership roles within industry organizations; Robin is President of the International Caterers Association and Jeffrey is President of the NY Chapter of Wedding International Professionals Association (WIPA). Together, this powerful trio challenges their staff to push the boundaries of creativity and to WOW their clients—every single time.
